About

Brandee has had many lives as an editor, writer, journalist, gardener and cook. They all taught her about creating something intelligible, beautiful and appetizing. She has always had a passion for writing, gardening and the environment, and her work often represents the intersection of those interests. Brandee’s writing and garden experiments explore how gardening practices have an effect on the environment around us, and in turn how the environment has an effect on the garden.

Brandee has a bachelor’s degree in English from the Ohio State University and master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been published in OHIO Magazine, Columbus Woman, Durham Magazine, Carolina Gardener, and newspapers in the Triangle and the Triad. She has covered food and restaurants, education, criminal justice, business, health, and real estate. When she can find the time, Brandee works at mastering headstands and arm balances in her yoga practice.
